We have partnered with the global leader in wine preservation Coravin and their latest machinery the Vinitas® system. The machine uses a stream of pure argon or nitrogen gas to extract wine from traditional 75cl bottles into 100ml Sample Bottles. This proprietary technology creates a controlled, oxygen-free environment to ensure that each Sample Bottle is perfectly preserved for up to 12 months. The process ensures the wine is dispensed without contact to oxygen and no change to the wines taste or profile occurs.

The Bottles

Not wanting to add further waste to the winemaking world was key for us so that's why we use custom made glass sample bottles. The bottles are produced from recycled materials, including glass (soda lime) and capping material (aluminum) and are recyclable after use.
The Science

Wine Preservation

Transferring wine is no easy task, the process and machinery took over 3 years of research and development with wine preservation at it's core. The Coravin Vinitas® underwent intensive lab and sensory testing for over 18 months with the expertise of Coravin's in-house team, including engineers, sommelier advisor, and the founder and inventor of Coravin, Greg Lambrecht in addition beta partners in the winery, retailer, and wine school channels to ensure the system met industry needs.

To truly put the machine to test we chose delicate wines that are highly sensitive to oxidation. Our results were impressive: We found that lighter-bodied wines preserve for up to 10 months, while more robust, full-bodied wines last for up to 12 months.
